Cracked Class on the Sleigh....

I received a few questions from Kelly S. regarding my CHF Christmas Card Class that I taught last week at Forever Scrapbooks in Burlington. I am only too happy to answer! Below are her questions. 1. Could you write the steps in how you did the cracked glass with the sleigh? I know how to do cracked glass but... did you stamp the snow stamp from Primitive Christmas after you embossed? I see the cute little snowy dots!

A. First thing to do is stamp your sleigh in red. Then apply liquicd pearls to the bottom for snow and make little dots for snow. Dry the liquid pearl using a heat gun. Then apply Broken China Distress Ink with Cut n' Dry Foam to make a sky coloured background. Then you apply the VersaMark/UTEE to the top part only! Repeat 3 times to get the embossing powder thick enough to crack it when it's cool.

2. Also, how did you make the hearts on the second card. ..are they watercolored?

A. Yes - watercolour pencils were used for the hearts. Make nice dark lines around the hreats, and bring the colour into the center with a blender pen.

3. How did you distress the saltbox house so that it is all those different colors...did you watercolor?

A. You're right on Kelly! Watercolour again, using the same technique as in Q.2.

By the way Kelly - peeked at your cards on SCS and they are so stinkin' cute! Thanks for your lovely comments and for your questions. If you try any of the above, make sure to send me the link!

Thanks.
