Good morning and good day! If you're here for the UNITY HIP HOP - WELCOME!
Before we get into the project for today, have you seen the new Kit of the Month for February? Look at all that art! All the possibilities for both card makers and stampers! Here it is:
There are some really great scrapbooking stamps in this kit that I can't wait to get my ink on!
For today, I want to show you a piece that I made for Unity's Booth at the Winter CHA 2011! How I wish I was there.
I used one of my favorite kits from Unity, and designed by Iron Orchid Designs: Good, Pure, Excellent.
I just love how it turned out. I really love the look of teal and orange together. This is an old PRIMA box (made of wood) and I turned it upside down to make it my very own canvas. In fact, I applied canvas to it with GESSO, then spritzed it with a GOOD amount of Shimmerz Spritz.
I stamped the stamps onto paper, I inked the quote with Distress Inks and drops of water, and then I treated both quote and image with 3 coats of UTEE (embossing powder) I was able to crack it after 3 coats. There are lots of gorgeous Prima flowers on here, and I really like the look of those vintage style frames from Little Yellow Bicycle. A perfect match for IOD stamp!
HIP HOP SKETCHES?
Do you know about the Hip Hop Sketches? If you play along, you can win some stamps! I'm thinking that people just don't know where to find these challenges and where to upload. You can find the information at Splitcoast Stampers in Unity's Challenge Forum. New to Splitcoast Stampers? It can be a little overwhelming! First, register on the site, then find your way to Unity Stamp Co. We have our own hang out spot on Splitcoast. All the information you could possibly need is there. And if it's not, just add a new topic and ask away!
Now it's time to hop on over to the next blog in the hop! The lovely JESSICA D.!
Thanks for visiting today!

ReplyDeleteWOW, WOW, WOW!!! This is gorgeous! I, too, love orange and teal--turquoise and coral look so beautiful in southwest jewelry--that is how I discovered how much I love these two colors together!
ReplyDeleteWow! I just love how you have altered that box! And the orange and teal are just so perfect! I am new to Unity and the challenges. I have the beautiful January KOM and would love to participate, but there is no sign of Sketch 43 over on Splitcoast, is it too early?
ReplyDeleteI seldom leave comments on blog, but I have been to this post which was recommend by my friend, lots of valuable details, thanks again.
