CHF Challenge Chicks! A Gift Wrap Challenge!

I bought this little box of chocolate covered cranberries from Winners and I loved the box so much, I thought about taking it apart to see if I could re-create it for my Christmas cookie packages. I just bought the Scor-Pal a little while ago, and with it, I feel like I can make anything - including these cute boxes!!!

I wanted people to be able to see my cookies, so I used my Making Memories circle cutter to make holes, then I used CHF Clear Card Sheets to make the windows, and white staz-on to stamp the images (all rubber from Cornish Heritage Farms).

AND - I finally got to use my Certified Homemade stamp!!! I designed that stamp from "Winter Vintage Signage" for this exact purpose.

Other CHF Players:
Becky Olsen
Carole Burrage
Jennifer Roach
Julia Stainton
Kim Hughes
Kristine Reynolds

So did you make your own packaging this Christmas ---if so --- do share! I know I'm always looking for new ideas!

A Layout Challenge....

Let's start with the holidays!!! Below you will find pictures of yummy cookies that me and my friend Luisa made for our friends and family. We had so much fun and spent the better part of two days baking and wrapping.

This is by far, my favourite time of year. So many cheery faces, lots of wonderful decorations, and of course, baked goodies.

At Cornish Heritage Farms, instead of doing our bi-weekly sketch, we decided to scrap the holidays! Something special about Christmas that we love and look forward to, a tradition or special decoration, etc.... Since I just took these wonderful photos, I thought I should scrap them! That's my friend Luisa with her "Christmas Cook" hat on. :)

Other design team members playing along this week are Kim Hughes, Carole Burrage, and Julia Stainton.

Catching Up!

First things first. There is a Cornish Heritage Farms Rummage Bin release, but I am sad to say that I will no longer be illustrating under this stamp line. For numerous reasons, one being that time was not on my side, I decided to slow things down and focus on playing with paper, ink, and stamps. :) But alas, CHF will continue building this line into something amazing I am sure! Lisa Strahl put together a cool inchie set based on previous sets I designed and Becky Olsen has designed a collage stamp for this month. I don't have a sample to show you as I don't yet have this stamp, but I will soon! You can see it here Wonder is Best When Shared.

Also - two new Scrapblocks were released this week: Tulle Damask and Distressed Grid. They are fantastic to work with!

Below, I will show you which stamps I used on each project. Full supply lists can be accessed by clicking on the pictures. It will take you to my CHF gallery.

CHF Stamps: Woodgrain Backgrounder, Rummage Bin (Ledger Me Set, Inchie Style Set)

CHF Stamps: Rummage Bin (Inchie Style)

CHF Stamps: Distressed Gird Scrapblock (TM), Rummage Bin (Inchie Style), Mona Lisa Moments (Classic Essential Expressions)

A Sketch For You....

Julia Stainton created this wonderful sketch over at Cornish Heritage Farms, and I am SO happy with my layout.

I used my November kit from Bad Girls Kit Club to make most of the layout, plus gorgeous stamps from CHF, called Silhouette Blooms I and II, designed by the talented Kim Hughes. The three squares were inspired by Madi's shirt, and the 2 stamp sets.
Check out Kristine Reynolds and Julia Stainton's blogs for their take on the sketch, and as always, we would love for you to play along.
Many blessings.
Lesley

Elvis is in the house!

Western Elvis is now available for your stamping pleasure! Only available from Cornish Heritage Farms. Do you know that CHF is the only company who can legally use the Elvis image for manufacturing rubber stamps? So if you see some other Elvis stamps out there, they don't have the lisence to use his image.

Below are two cards that I created using this awesome, lovely image of The King. For more info on supplies, click on each image to take you into the CHF gallery.

Jeannette and John - IN LOVE

Here is just something I whipped together...just kidding, I sat on this layout and kept playing with it for over 2 weeks. I just had to keep coming back with new eyes to figure out what was missing. Mostly it was the journaling that held me back, since this is my sister-in-law and her hubby.

I just adore this photo of the two of them as they headed off to a wedding. They looked so great and happy and ready to have fun. I had fun with paint - and just gobbed it on - and it happened to come out in the letter J. Which is perfect to match their names. And my SIL loves butterflies, so I had to throw one in there.

Stamping Info:
1. Dotted Diamonds Backgrounder Stamp: Used with pink paint to create more interest to my background paper, it needed something. The pink paint was used throughout, so it tied in perfectly.
2. The Story of Us Stamp: I decided to use black embossing powder to bring out the sub-title here, and to make it pop even more, I added white pen all around the letters and frame.

CHF Challenge Chicks! A Faux Snow Challenge...

I just picked up some of this Faux Snow from my local scrapbook store on the weekend, so I was able to play along with this week's challenge over at Cornish Heritage Farms. I would say that after using it on 2 projects, I could see myself using it on layouts and Christmas Cards for this year. It's very easy to use and not too too messy either. Just apply with clear liquid glue, let dry, and voila! Here is my project, using the Primitive Christmas Set that I designed for CHF's Rummage Bin line. The sleigh is embossed with Seasonal Cinnamon embossing powder available at CHF. The tag is Tim Holtz fragments, dyed with Adirondack Alcohol Ink (Red Pepper), then stamped on opposite side "sleigh" with black Staz-on.
Please take some time to go visit the other girls' blogs to have a peek at how they used Faux Snow - you'll get some more inspiration and ideas!

Supplies:
Paper - My Mind's Eye, Basic Grey
Ink: Tsukineko, Ranger
Faux Snow: Art Glitter Institute
Embossing Powder and Rubber Stamps: Cornish Heritage Farms (Primitive Christmas)
Other: Twill, Pins, Fragment (Tim Holtz), Baker's Twine (Martha Stewart), Gems by Prima Marketing Inc., Lace

Top Designer - Class #7 Final Exam

I am so excited to have made it to Class #7 at Bad Girls Kits for their Top Designer Contest. It is down to 11 talented designers and our task this week, was to alter something, anything! I had picked up this cigar box months ago at a local cigar shop for $1.00! I intended to cover it and make it into a pretty box, but for this task, I turned it on its side and made it into a home decoration/frame with little trinkets and fun embellishments.
