ADORE - CCG #163 and Unity's October Kit of the Month

How about some color inspiration?  This week's color combination at Color Combos Galore is simply awesome!  Feel free to join the group and share your creations!

Here is Unity's October 2010 Kit of the Month "Take Time to Laugh"!  Isn't is adorable?  I used the clouds backgrounder to make what looks like patterned paper for my layout.  I also used that cute sentiment "it's a beautiful day, don't let it get away".  If you want monthly kits from Unity, it's $26.00 a month for your subscription and comes with a full sheet of rubber (8.5 x11).  That's a whole lotta stamps!

ADORE YOUR HEART

Those cute stitched letters are PRIMA and the wood heart embellishment is OLD from We R Memory Keepers.  I like using my older stash!  Makes me feel good about finally using something that's just been collecting dust.

Stickles always make a good addition to any layouts!  I hand glittered the hearts to add some RED color to the title.

Bye for now!

TODAY, we are giving thanks and I wanted to give thanks for the farmers.

What would we do without farmers?  These are the hard working people and families that allow us to eat fresh fruits and vegetables, meats and milk, and to pick PUMPKINS in the Fall.

We visit farms all the time.  We can walk the grounds, and harvest some of the foods that grow there.

GIVE THANKS FOR FARMS

Here is how I added color to my pumpkins, this is VERY quick and uses Ranger's Cut n' Dry foam for the application.  I ink the pumpkins before I cut them out to save myself time and agony - and it also saves me from coloring them which would use a lot of marker ink.

I applied some green and orange water-based inks to the Core'dinations cardstock and then splatted water onto it.  I was surprised to find that the ink was TOTALLY displaced on this type of cardstock. So there are white spots where there used to be ink.  SURPRISE!

I stamps the flourish 2 times, one right side up, then one upside down, so that they meet in the middle.  I used my trusty Stickles to add bling to the leaves.

Here is a side view of my pumpkins, all overlapping and looking so very ORANGE.

I used the CUTE stamp set "Simple Blessings" by UNITY for this layout:

FOREVER DIVA

A couple weeks ago, I opened a beautiful package of goodies from Vicky Alberto's cute cute cute ETSY shop.  Most of the embellishments you see are from Vicky's shop.

Those cute flowers, pearls, that canvs tag are from Vicky.

This awesome piece of wood cut into a flourish!

The ribbon/lace and crochet flower!  The stamps on the tag are from UNITY STAMP CO.  Which by the way, Unity has a NEW web site up and running and it's AWESOME - VERY functional for your shopping experience.

And here I applied some SHIMMERZ paint to tie in the blue and brown.  Can you see the SHIMMER?  I applied it with a paint brush and it took all of 1 minute (maybe you can tell LOL).

I entered this layout into BACK PORCH MEMORIES Guest Designer contest (which they have each and every month) and I won!  So for the month of November, I will be designing with Back Porch Memories!  Whoot whoot!

AND - here is a sneak of my NEW craft room!!!  I got some wallpaper up.  Here is my ACCENT WALL.  I know damask may soon be out of style, but I wanted something dramatic.

I am VERY proud of myself.  I drywalled the ceiling with only a little help from my husband and Dad, and applied a total of 10 coats of paint, and hung my own wallpaper - NO HELP!  Now I have to rip up the old carpet and get ready for cabinet installation.

If you don't hear from me, I'm either seeing the doctor for a pulled muscle, working on the craft room, or sleeping.

Bye for now!

UP THE STREET
And on this beautiful Friday afternoon, I have 2 more projects for you that I made with Up the Street's October kit, called Hint of Hallowe'en.

I was able to put together 2 layouts that  were about GRATITUDE.

I was able to spray with metal Teresa Collins book plate with SHIMMERZ, but I had to let it dry for a couple hours before touching it again.  It fell nicely into the holes.  The letters are made by KaiserCraft.

The kit comes with this awesome orange tulle, and those buttons have large enough holes underneath, that you can thread the tulle.

I inked a LOT on this layout.  I used Ranger's Adirondack Ink (Lettuce) as well as Ranger's Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  For the most part, I used Ranger's Cut n' Dry Foam to apply it, and splashed some water here and there to make drops.

I was able to make a matching card, unintentionally, but they do MATCH!
I used the beautiful packaging that came with the 6 pack of Prima flowers.  I also layered my left over papers and used the twine that wraps each kit when it comes to my door.

Here is a picture of ALL the goodies that come in the October Kit.  Visit Up The Street to see more - Tara also has another kit available for October!

Have a glorious FALL weekend!

Hip Hop Halloween Projects!

Good morning and good day!  If you're here for the UNITY HIP HOP  - WELCOME!

I made a 3 piece set for you today!  A gift tin with magnets inside, a card and matching envelope.

For all the projects today, I used UNITY's Halloween stamp set called **Unlucky 13**.

Here is the inside of the tin and sursprisingly, it fit 5 of these bottlecap magnets - a perfect number for a gift set.  I used Cut n' Dry Foam from Ranger to apply the Adirondack orange ink to the paper where the spiders were stamped.  The spider paper is My Mind's Eye.

And here, I counted 13 caramels for each treat bag.  Perfect for the stamp I think!  I used only the TREAT portion of the Trick or Treat stamp.   I made the tag with Ranger Inks (orange, purple, and green).

CAN I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE
WANT SOME TAGS?
I will select one person from the comments today to receive 10 inked tags (as seen above - without the stamping).  That way, you can stamp your own sentiments and images.  And since I haven't made them yet, I'll let you opt for Christmas colors instead of Halloween colors!

I'll even throw in some of that FUNKY ribbon!

Hope you have a wondeful day hopping!

Supplies:
Stamps: Unity Stamp Co. (Unlucky 13)
Adhesive: Glue Glider Pro (Perma Tac) by Glue Arts, Extreme Adhesive Squares by Glue Arts
Inks: Ranger Distress Inks, Ranger Adirondack Inks, Stewart Superior
Mists: Shimmerz Spritz (Olive Branch and Purple Passion)
Patterned Paper: My Mind's Eye
Markers: Copic
Ribbon: Offray
Lace: Prima
Other: Homemade Bottle Cap Magnets, Tin, Corner Rounder, Ranger Cut n' Dry Foam

Up The Street Scrapbooking - OCTOBER KIT REVEAL

I have been busy busy busy making some projects from Tara's latest awesome OCTOBER kit at Up the Street Scrapbooking.

My favorite item in here has to be the Teresa Collins Book Plates!  Have you seen these?

Here is my first layout called "Chivalry is Not Dead".

To save some of the scalloped web paper, I cut out the middle and used it on my Snow White layout below.  I applied GRAPE stickles to the purple My Little Shoebox frame.

Those bats came with the sticker alphas from Making Memories.

This one is called "Sophie is Snow White"

There is that book plate and there is the remainder of the webbed scalloped paper.  I used tiny dots of orange stickles to dress up the webs.

I used Purple Passion Shimmerz Spritz for my background just to give the layout a hint more purple.

This is more of a FALLish layout called: "Grateful for this Family".

There is a sheet of die cut ATUTUMN/GRATITUDE journaling blocks and sayings from Teresa Collins that I used on this layout and Snow White.  Everything was matchy matchy and, with orange, white and black.

That swirl is a die cut paper from My Little Shoebox, and it's treated with Black Diamond Stickles.

In case you like what you see.....here is a picture of the kit in its entirety.

This kit is called Hint of Hallowe'en and is $48.50 CAD and is available NOW at Up the Street Scrapbooking.  There is also a 20% OFF sale on some previous kits, it's worth checking out.

Have a wonderful day!
