10.5 inches of my hair - GONE. Today.
Can't say I'll miss it all that much. It was getting so heavy. So this was no big sacrifice on my part, but I wanted to spread the word that you can donate you hair to be made into wigs for cancer patients. It's easy enough to do, but there are restrictions to what hair they will accept (ie cannot be bleached, cannot have more than 5% grey, at least 8 inches long, etc.).
You simply cut it off, place it in a zip loc bag and send it in the mail. EASY. My friend Lisa, a cancer survivor was doing this and told me about it, and I thought it was definitely something I should do.
FYI:
It takes approximately 12 donations of unprocessed hair and costs about $1,200 to craft a single hand-sewn wig for a child?
SAYING GOODBYE TO MY HAIR SHOT:
OK - so a little bad on the cutting off part. Definitely need to a visit to a hair salon to fix this lop sided mess! :) It's all good though, it can still be worn in a pony. I saved some hair (you can see it on top) that will make the front longer if I choose.
Have a great weekend all!
