Spellbinders Spring Blog Hop and Giveaway Day One

This Contest is Now Closed. Please visit the Spellbinders Blog to see the remaining blogs in the hop for more chances to win!

Welcome to the first day of the  Spellbinders™ Spring Blog Hop!  I’m so glad you’re here and get to see what I’ve come up with using many of my favorite Spellbinders die templates.  When I start a project, my first thought is the overall message and vision, then I see what possible die templates can add patterns, labels, or embellishments to my layout.  The new Bauble Blossoms One and Bauble Blossoms Two are meant to be rolled flowers with quilled centers, but for this layout, I liked the idea of leaving them cut and embossed as is, to create a pattern with them.

Supply List:
·         S5-103 Bauble Blossoms One
·         S5- 026 Labels Twenty
·         E8-007 Classic Edges One
·         E8-003 Classic Triple Scallop
·         S5-028 Nested Pennants
·         S3-146 Butterflies Two
·         Clearsnap Inc. (ColorBox Archival Dye: Fireberry, ColorBox Queue: Wood Grain)
·         Bazzill Basics Paper (Cardstock: Red, White)
·         Creative Impressions (Cork Sheet)
·         7 Gypsies Rub-Ons (Butterflies)
·         BoBunny Patterned Paper (Gabrielle)
·         Scrapbook Adhesives (3D Foam Squares)

Other:
·         Wood Letters
·         Echo Park Sticker Letters (This & That)

1.       Die cut and emboss two of each S5-103 Bauble Blossoms One using whatever patterned paper appeals to you.  Adhere all your die cuts to a piece of white cardstock (approximately 8 inches x 10 inches).  Place the strip in the center, the flower pieces to the left and right, and then trim the tops and bottoms that are hanging off the white cardstock.

2.    Die cut an edge onto the white cardstock using E8-007 Classic Edges One and
E8-003 Classic Triple Scallop.  Ink the edges of this whole piece and place onto 12x12 cardstock background.

3.  Die cut some S3-146 Butterflies Two from a cork sheet and adhere to layout, at the same time, adhere butterfly rub-ons and matted photo.

4.      Print journaling onto white cardstock, and die cut and emboss it using a banner from S5-028 Nested Pennants.  While paper is inside the die template (as shown), apply ink to the inside.  Die cut and emboss S5- 026 Labels Twenty for your title, and ink in the same manner as above.

5.       Ink wooden alpha letters with red ink, let dry and adhere to label.  Adhere another die cut, embossed, and inked banner for your title, adhere with 3D foam.   Adhere sticker letters.

ScrapFest 2012 Photos!

For my new Bed & Breakfast, Mark and I rented a booth at Scrapfest and this was our booth!  we met so many wonderful people and the Make n' Take was a lot of fun.  We used some Shimmerz Coloringz and Unity Stamps (Donna Downey Peony) to stamp onto postcards.  Beautiful result!  We also had cookies, a BIG prize to give away, and three good friends that helped me out. A big thanks to Michelle Needham, Victoria Kiar, and Jennifer Roach.

So awesome to finally meet Angie Blom!  This girl gives the BEST hugs!

3D Flower with GlueArts Raisen's

Raisen's are one of GlueArts many products, and they are so sticky and BIG in order to add dimension to any project.  I used them to add more petals onto this Donna Downey (Unity Stamp Co.) peony stamp by stamping and inking 3 flowers, to make one 3D flower.  More on the GlueArts blog....and there is a giveaway there too - so make sure to leave a comment.

Up the Street Scrapbooking - MARCH Kits

The MARCH 2012 kits from Up the Street Scrapbooking have been revealed, but I'm sad to report that the kit I worked with "Sweet Love" is all sold out.  Kit #1 "Wander" which is just as lovely, has only 2 left!  This quick selling out is a testament to Tara's amazing ability to put together desirable kits!

(You can enlarge any of the photos to see more detail.)

**Totally love this idea of adding random numbers about the reasons you love someone (hence No. 372) - got the idea from one of my favourite layout artists - Debbi Tehrani!

TIME
Up the Street Kit #2 Sweet Love
Spellbinders Dies: Bitty Blossoms (flowers), Home Sweet Home (tags)

I took these pictures last time my Dad was down.  I remember times like this with him.  Loved his tickles and now I see the same joy from my kids.  Nothing like sweet and precious time with Grandpa.

NATURALLY

Spellbinders Dies: Bitty Blossoms (flowers)

I loved making this long title and using up a FRESH new pack of alphas.  And there are still a lot more to use up!  Aren't they cool?  I think they are a perfect addition to the kit.

Snow Magic - Our New Street

This week on the Glue Arts Blog, we are working with Little Yellow Bicycle products (Winter Twig Collection), and this collection allows for effortless layouts to come together.  I love the colour scheme of this collection, and how it really makes the snowy image look more beautiful and serene.

The photo is of our new street, in our new town of Brantford, Ontario.  The snow was so fluffy and covering each branch of every tree.  It was a stunning sight.

If you leave a comment on the Glue Arts post, there is a GIVEAWAY opportunity over there. It's worth having a look!
