CRACK - The Sound of Glass Breaking - HIP HOP

Good morning and good day!  If you're here for the UNITY and IPPITY CHRISTMAS ORNAMENT / KID's CRAFT HIP HOP  - WELCOME!

CHECK the Unity Blog for NEW NEW NEWS - something about Webster's Pages???

Christmas is getting closer and closer....can you feel it in the air?  I thought I saw snow today (just a tiny bit).  I was so "in the mood" that I created 2 projects for you today using the NEW Jillibean Soup holiday set called "Jolly Good Fun".

Here is my FIRST CRACK at this ornament (ha ha - pun totally intended!)

And here is my second attempt, I switched out the Faux Snow for plastic pebbles - they remind me of SNOWBALLS - and match the mittens and sentiment!  I stamped on a piece of acetate with Staz-on and colored it with Copic marker.  I made sure to punch a hole in the top of the acetate so that it would hang (with the twine).  The ribbon is meant to be a scarf.  I hot glued pom pom ribbon on the ends.

Supplies:
Stamps: Unity Stamp Co. (Jolly Good Fun)
Ribbon: May Arts
Adhesive: Glue Arts Glue Gun, Adhesive Squares
Twine: The Twinery
Markers: Copic
 Ink: Tsukineko Staz-on

AND here is my second ornament.  I was cleaning the house and was planning on chucking this, but thought - MAYBE I could re-purpose this someday.  Little did I know that it would be so soon!

Here is the original:

And here is the NEW ONE!

Supplies:

Adhesive: Glue Arts Glue Gun, Adhesive Squares

New Store Kit from UNITY!

And what Mother wouldn't love this one!  Instead of scrapping about my Mom, who just took off to England for 6 months - I decided to scrap about being a Mom, to my little William who will be 1 year old very soon.  I can't believe it has been a year.

(Available in Stores)

My sister, Julie Johnson of Vine Images, took this image and I had it printed because I loved this little face, even when he cried.  So cute huh?  I bought that hat from The Children's Place, one of the only things I bought for William before he came into this world.

Have a wonderful Saturday!

I AM SEEKING - Color Combos Galore #166

The colors are gorgeous this week!  A beautiful blue, a soft orange, white, and a soft green/khaki.  I used some photo chips from DARKROOM DOOR as a backdrop to these beautiful colors.  That is ME, rare, that I have a photo of myself, especially a candid one.  My husband's brother snapped this shot, printed it, and gave it to me.

I used a mix of Unity Stamps for this one, the SHE saying, the TRUTH bird, and the I AM SEEKING.

I used some older Basic Grey rub-ons, that I was always meaning to use, but could never find the right project.  The text is a rub-on.  I used Key Lime Shimmerz Paint and Sunset Strip VIBEZ (that nice bright orange).  I have always wanted a nice bright orange spray, and this is it!

Here is this awesome truth bird, I stamped it once on the paper, and stamped again on a blue paper, and cut only part of it out, and glued it on top.  Then came the Shimmerz Paint (Key Lime).

USED ON THIS LAYOUT:

Hip Hop Christmas! Dec. 24

Good morning and good day!  If you're here for the UNITY and IPPITY CHRISTMAS HIP HOP  - WELCOME!

Can you believe that Christmas is creeping up on us already!

TODAY, we are sharing our Journaling Christmas ideas.  I have for you, a special peek at my stocking!  It's the largest stocking I have ever had, and if I came across a larger one, I'd probably buy it!

"  STALKING SANTA"

I decided to journal about dec 24, because it is the same every year.  I place my HUGE stocking on the couch and wait for Mark to fill it, which is hilarious, because he takes it to heart that he has to fill this ENORMOUS thing.   I usually get lots of socks and even PJ's and slippers have fit in there.

I made some tags using Distress Ink, and I stamped on each of them.  This one uses the flower from the Nov. Kit of the Month.

This tag uses that cute couch!

And this tag uses one of the sentiments from the kit, and I couldn't resist using this single stamp called DO NOT OPEN.  I always break this rule.  ALWAYS.  I let the kids open one gift too on Dec 24th.  Usually new pajamas.

Here is a look at the NOVEMBER Kit of the Month  "Picture Perfect" by UNITY:

Picture Perfect stamps used:

- Couch
- Flower
- "some things" sentiment
- picture perfect
AND I used one of this cute Christmas stamp, called DO NOT OPEN:

Here is my 4 piece card set!  I made my own TWINE candies.  Wish they were edible.  The HOW TO will be up on the Glue Arts Blog.

ADORE - CCG #163 and Unity's October Kit of the Month

How about some color inspiration?  This week's color combination at Color Combos Galore is simply awesome!  Feel free to join the group and share your creations!

Here is Unity's October 2010 Kit of the Month "Take Time to Laugh"!  Isn't is adorable?  I used the clouds backgrounder to make what looks like patterned paper for my layout.  I also used that cute sentiment "it's a beautiful day, don't let it get away".  If you want monthly kits from Unity, it's $26.00 a month for your subscription and comes with a full sheet of rubber (8.5 x11).  That's a whole lotta stamps!

ADORE YOUR HEART

Those cute stitched letters are PRIMA and the wood heart embellishment is OLD from We R Memory Keepers.  I like using my older stash!  Makes me feel good about finally using something that's just been collecting dust.

Stickles always make a good addition to any layouts!  I hand glittered the hearts to add some RED color to the title.

Bye for now!
