Calling on Ontario Girls...Want to visit St. Jacob's?

Just a note to say that I will be teaching 2 classes this weekend at The Scrapping Turtle in St. Jacobs. Here is the store address: http://www.scrappingturtle.com/ and classes are listed for World Cardmaking Day! Wohoo! All classes will feature stamps from Cornish Heritage Farms!

One class will be focussed on Christmas cards (see above sample Silent Night) and the other on stamping techniques (see the sample "baked with love"). My side bar to the left has a link to the store where you will find the class section and you can find descriptions in the latest newsletter.

Thanks!

Cracked Class on the Sleigh....

I received a few questions from Kelly S. regarding my CHF Christmas Card Class that I taught last week at Forever Scrapbooks in Burlington. I am only too happy to answer! Below are her questions. 1. Could you write the steps in how you did the cracked glass with the sleigh? I know how to do cracked glass but... did you stamp the snow stamp from Primitive Christmas after you embossed? I see the cute little snowy dots!

A. First thing to do is stamp your sleigh in red. Then apply liquicd pearls to the bottom for snow and make little dots for snow. Dry the liquid pearl using a heat gun. Then apply Broken China Distress Ink with Cut n' Dry Foam to make a sky coloured background. Then you apply the VersaMark/UTEE to the top part only! Repeat 3 times to get the embossing powder thick enough to crack it when it's cool.

2. Also, how did you make the hearts on the second card. ..are they watercolored?

A. Yes - watercolour pencils were used for the hearts. Make nice dark lines around the hreats, and bring the colour into the center with a blender pen.

3. How did you distress the saltbox house so that it is all those different colors...did you watercolor?

A. You're right on Kelly! Watercolour again, using the same technique as in Q.2.

By the way Kelly - peeked at your cards on SCS and they are so stinkin' cute! Thanks for your lovely comments and for your questions. If you try any of the above, make sure to send me the link!

Thanks.

CHF Challenge Chicks! And an Elvis Sneak...

This week's challenge was to make a blog header with paper - so what you see up top is my new banner! Made with papers from various companies and loaded with CHF stamps! You can see Vintage Ledger Scrapblock, the binding rings from Ledger Me (Rummage Bin), the postcard from the newest Rummage Bin release which is Journal Box, and EMBRACE from Mona Lisa Moments: Big Inspiration.

Other ladies playing along are Jennifer Roach and Kristine Reynolds. I think there may be a few more, and you can check the CHF Challenge forum for all players and to play along if you have time and want to take the challenge with us!

Below, just for your viewing pleasure, is the HOT new Elvis image, as well as the new Viva Las Vegas sentiment to be released this Thursday at CHF! This is my favourite Elvis image so far. I made 3 cards in one sitting with this image, it's such a great focal point. Also used is the Elvis Is Backgrounder.
