Some More Sneaks for Up The Street Scrapbooking!

Just a few more sneaks of February's Up The Street Scrapbooking kits!

The first two are from the side kit Let the Sun Shine, and the second is a mix of Let the Sun Shine and My Shabby Valentine.  Do those names just scream out to you?  One makes me think of summer, bright and bold, war and sunny, and the other makes me think vintage, pinks and browns, distressed and aged.

You will not be disappointed in February's kits!

CHA Time!

I feel like I'm missing out on CHA.  For us scrapbookers, stampers, and card makers, it's probably THE most exciting time of year.  And if you're working in the industry, it's the perfect opportunity to showcase new and unique products and network with friends and establish new partnerships.

I love that Unity has been co-branding with such amazing companies and manufacturing their image.  And if you've visited the Glue Arts Blog, they have also been partnering with wonderful companies that sponsor our work over there each week.  I think we're seeing a new era in the industry with cross promotional marketing ideas happening, where companies are seeing the benefits of working together, each bringing their own unique strengths to the table.  What we enjoy as consumers, is the CREATIVE result of collaboration.

If you're heading to CHA, I hope you have a wonderful time!  I'll be watching the web for pictures and reviews from some of my favorite companies that I've been working this over the past year.

February Kit Reveal - Up The Street Kits!

I've got some pretty pictures to share with you...

I got my Up The Street Scrapbooking FEBRUARY 2011 kit nice and early and have been drooling over every sheet of paper, every embellishment, and all the possibilities!

Here are some sneaks from the side kit "Mt Shabby Valentine".  Up the Street (aka Tara) outdid herself this time!  A beautiful mix of products from many manufacturers.  I am working on the "other" side kit too, and it is SO different from this one, yet still so beautiful.

Have a WONDERFUL weekend and we'll see you again in February for the FULL reveal!

Accent It All for Valentine's!

I went all red, blue and pink for Valentine's this year and made use of my pink and red Accent It All Vinyl from Glue Arts!  Here is a link to the full post with instructions for the tags!  If you leave a comment there, you could win a BIG selection of the Accent It All.  You can punch it, put it through a die cut machine, you name it!  And it sticks to almost anything, and can be easily removed when you're done with it.

Below, I used the Accent It All on acetate and then stitched some May Arts ribbon to the bottom and finished off the tag with Pink Staz-on.

I made my own tags with cardstock, and spritzed the Little Yellow Bicycle heart doilies with Shimmerz, then cut out a hole using Spellbinders circles.  Then the photos were glued to the back, and covered with paper.

Hip Hop Thursday! More Marah!

Good morning and good day!  If you're here for the UNITY HIP HOP  - WELCOME!

Today, just as last week, I am THRILLED to show you MORE work with my Marah Johnson stamps from Unity Stamp Co.  This time, stamping on CANVAS!  I see stamping as a way to add interest to my layouts.  Usually, my stamping will be subtle, not so much the focal point, but the backdrop for my layout, helping tie in a theme.  This time, it's ART.

Here is the stamp set I used:

-art, create, nurture quote

Here is a close up of the canvas, bought from my local fabric store, and spritzed with SHIMMERZ (rock-a-fella blue, razzle dazzle berry, and fiery fiesta).  I used a juicy ink to make sure that the ink transferred well onto the canvas (VersaFine Vintage Sepia Pigment Ink by Tsukineko).

I often like to have a small little focal point off the main page somewhere, and I had some extra canvas lying around.  Here is the cute little corner "Create Color".

Oh for the love of flowers.  I had this PRIMA vine of flowers staring at me for the last 2 months, and it was only at the end of the layout that I saw it and made the connection that the colors were PERFECT for the palette on the page.

Thanks Mom for the sewing machine!  I'm taking good care of it while you're off traveling the world!  I've been sewing on MOST of my projects lately, and have grown to love the zig zag stitch!  I also pleated (although horribly) this piece of canvas.

Supplies:
Unity Stamps: Art & Soul
Patterned Paper: Bella Blvd
Ink: Tsukineko, Ranger
Flowers: Prima
Sprays: Shimmerz Paints
Letters: Karen Foster, American Crafts
Photo Anchors: 7 Gypsies
Adhesive: Glue Arts, Glue Glider Pro, Extrem Adhesive Squares
Leaves: Prima
Dies: Labels 4 by Spellbinders
Epoxy Stickers: Making Memories
Other: Canvas, Ranger Dabber Paint (Cranberry), Hemp Cord

Here is a reminder of the Kit of the Month for January.

And a SNEAK PEEK FOR THE FEBRUARY Kit of the Month:
Isn't it cute!  If you scrapbook, you're probably drooling!  I am!

I'm a Spellbinders Finalist and a New Post at Simply Renee

No #1
OK, so, I have been holding in the excitement.  Today on the Spellbinders Blog, they announced the finalists in the Spellbinders Design Team Contest.  They've narrowed it down to 22 finalists and my name was on the list!  I have a lot of dies from Spellbinders, and I swear by them!  I used my circles the most, followed by scalloped circles, then rectangles, then scalloped rectangles.

No #2
Here is a set of NOTE CARDS that I made for Simply Renee, which went live today.  Over at the Simply Renee Blog, you get to see the instructions for these cards, the cute matching folder, my review on the JUMBO Clip-it-Up, and MY NEW CRAFT ROOM VIDEO!

Bye for now!

A CUTE Altered Bulletin Board Video!

This week has been The Girls' Paperie Week over on the Glue Arts Blog and today, they've got 3 projects up, one of them being mine!  Here is my Bulletin Board made from an old sign.  If you have anything that resembles this, you can always cover it up with paper and hot glue cork trivets on top.  And the painted frame can be applied to anything!

If you're interested, here is the video on how I made this.  You can see me using my new Glue Glider MAX!  It's so awesome, and is my GO TO glue now!  My Glue Arts glue gun was used to adhere the trivets and you can see in the video how strong this glue is!  I lifted up the whole board by the middle trivet and it held!

Hip Hop with Unity - Marah Johnson!

Good morning and good day!  If you're here for the UNITY HIP HOP  - WELCOME!

I am THRILLED to show you what I've done with the NEW Marah Johnson co-branded stamps from Unity Stamp Co.  These are BIG stamps, scrapbooking stamps, artsy stamps, ME stamps!  They come in 8.5 x 11 sheets of rubber!  Talk about a lot of stamps.

Here is a peek of the stamp sets I used:

-art, soul, label, flourish, bird, nurture quote, crown, ampersand

-flourish

Here is my FIRST layout using these stamps: Julie's ART & SOUL

This is a photo of a VERY pregnant me, last November.  My sister is a photographer (Vine Images), started her own business about 7 years ago, and this is a tribute to her and her art.

I wanted the paper's edge to show through, so I cut the STAMPED label in half and separated it.  Lots of the stamping I did was directly onto the paper, and I think these stamps suited this TEXT paper.  The bright yellow flowers were spritzed with Rolling in the Hay SHIMMERZ spritz, to make it match better.   I also spritzed some Shimmerz onto the paper.

Aren't these words beautiful?  I love the font Marah chose.

Supplies:
Unity Stamps: Art & Soul, Breathless
Patterned Paper: Bo Bunny
Ink: Ranger (Peeled Paint, Pitch Black)
Flowers: Dollarama
Shimmerz Spritz: Rolling in the Hay (Gold)
Canvas Letters: Making Memories
Photo Anchors: 7 Gypsies
Adhesive: Glue Arts, Glue Glider Pro, Glue Gun
Leaves: Prima
Other: Dymo Labelmaker

Here is a reminder of the Kit of the Month for January.
