Some Earrings and Some Unity

I have been busy making some Jewelry, making a card, and clearing my basement of scrapping supplies! Forever Scrapbooks is having a garage sale this Saturday (if you're local to Burlington, Ontario - you should go!). I have about 400 line items that I am selling. It's all to make room for my new scrap space that I am dreaming up!

I have been interested in wire wrapping, so I bought some 26 gage wire, and played around to make these earrings. I think they're quite funky!

And here is the card I made for an on-line gal named Angie. It's her birthday today! Happy Birthday Angie....hope you like your card. I used my NEW stamps from Unity that I picked up at ScrapFest a couple weeks back. They stamp REALLY well. Gotta love red rubber.

That's it for now, off to make dinner!

Beside You...

As part of my 2010 goal to scrap more layouts of the men and boys in my life, here is a good example of me keeping on track!

This layout was created for the last week of Savvy n' Sassy's Ribbon Rave. The parameters were:
  • black and white layout, with one other colour
  • use a quote (I used a Johnny Cash lyric quote, one of my hubby's fave artists)
  • have a wow factor with ribbon
  • focus on journaling

Enjoy the remainder of your Sunday and weekend!

ScrapFest Spoils and New Pup!

Jen Roach and I headed to ScrapFest in Kitchener-Waterloo yesterday and I stayed relatively within budget! I think I went over by $50.00, but there were so "special" things I found that I had to get them (says the voice of an addict!). Here is my stash! My best finds were the Prima leaves (which I have had a hard time finding lately), and the dark brown and chestnut brown chalk inks, as well as the Unity stamp set, and the Maya Road leaves pins.

Anyway, that is not my big news. I was dropped off by Jen and headed quickly into the house to ditch my bags and come back for my baby in the car, when all I saw was a little tiny puppy running loose in the house. I said, "this is not be our puppy, tell me Mark, this is not our puppy!" The kids were playing with him and there was the crate and toys, and happy kid faces.... this was OUR puppy. He does not have a name yet, but I am leaning towards Chewie. He is a 2 month old Cockapoo. At first when Jen asked me what kind of dog it was, I was still in shock and said "I have no idea, it's brown and furry".

Off to learn about housebreaking!

More Sneak Peeks for Up the Street!

Up the Street Scrapbooking's April kit is perfect for Spring! It's so bright and fun and can be used for boy, girl, and adult pages too! Here are some sneaks to tide you over until the BIG REVEAL on April 15th!

Kit Club Benefits:
If you're a kit club fan like me, you appreciate that someone else is doing all the hard work of coordinating products for you, and you simply piece them together. What I also like is that I am sometimes left with product that I would not normally buy, BUT, it stretches me to try working with new companies, colours, and styles, and I usually like the end result.

Enjoy your Sunny Monday! (at least here in Ontario). :)

Alive & Kicking Layout

I was challenged at Savvy n' Sassy to do the following:
  • 3 photos
  • 3 different ribbons
  • 3 patterned papers
  • 3 different embellishments
  • weave the ribbon in some way
Here is what I came up with! I love being challenged because it pushes you to use new ideas. This was a great way to use up ribbon! My new favourite subject to scrap is my little 4 month old. I used a lot of Shimmerz on this layout to spray the background and some of the ribbons. Love that stuff!

Up the Street Scrapbooking - The New Kit in Town

This is a new kit club based out of Ontario and so far - the kits are awesome! And knowing Tara's sense of style, the kits will always be well thought out and coordinated. Go have a peek at Up the Street Scrapbooking and look at their past 2 kits and the sneak peeks for April 2010. I am one of the lucky guest designers for April and here is a teeny tiny peek at one of the layouts I am working on. The big reveal is April 15th!

Bye for now! I can't stop creating! Need help....

My Favourite Things - Thank You

My friend Jen came over one day and she let me borrow some of her new stamps! Here is a stamp from the Pure Innocence line of My Favourite Things, using Copic Markers to colour her in. Isn't she adorable??? This would make a nice teacher's card. I bought some of that lime cardstock from Scrapbook Star and it looked SO bright when I got it, but I seem to have found a good place for it! See the layout and wear some sun glasses!

The layout below was done for a challenge to use 4 different ribbons. The photo is of my little guy when he is only 1 week old. That hat is the first thing I bought when I found out I was having a boy. The stamps are the new Ali Edwards ones from Technique Tuesday. LOVE this set!

Bye for now.
