Homemade Headband

Hello lovely people!

Glue Arts has teamed up this week with Epiphany Crafts, maker of these AWESOME tools that allow you to make your own epoxy buttons with the paper of your choosing.  I am a BIG fan!  They also make these flowers that I made into an interchangeable headband for my daughter.  I put Velcro on the back of each flower, so she could change up the flowers on the band.  I used my trusty Glue Arts Glue Gun and Glue Sticks to make sure all the Velcro was attached and the cute heart buttons.

See full instruction on the Glue Arts blog.   Also comment over there for a GIVEAWAY!  A winner from this weeks' Glue Arts posts will be chosen on Monday.

Hip Hop Thursday - SOME CARDS!

Welcome to this stop on the UNITY HIP HOP for April 21, 2011.

Today's CARD Thoughts:
I thought I would share with you some cards that I made, the first, stamping on painted denim, and the second, stamping on an inky envelope.

Project Tip (Especially for Publication):
When you finish your project, think about adding little elements to make it different and stand out.  Little add-ons include eyelets, brads, cord, ribbon, paints or ink, stitching (hand or machine), little gems.

"Butterflies"
(add on was cotton waxed cord)

 "Love"
(add-on was little gems on the envelope and seam binding)

This week on UnityTV, we have a technique for you, using the coolest and newest stamps from Unity!  We love this technique and think you will too.  It's an old technique, but stamps can make it fresh again.

EASY as PIE!

We used the BELLA DOILIES stamp set designed by Bella Blvd.   Love these stamps for so many reasons.

What can you expect in this video?
  • Distress Inks
  • Heat Embossing
  • Ink Pushing with Water

Without further ado, here are some pictures of the technique in Episode #7! of UnityTV.   If you watch it on You Tube, go ahead and subscribe to the UnityTV channel (UnityStampCoTV), because the videos will just keep coming!

Hip Hop with Some NEW Hops in Our Step

Welcome to the UNITY HIP HOP for April 14, 2011.  And this is such an AMAZING hop because we are now hopping together, the Ippity Girls and the Unity Girls, now ONE BIG TEAM!

Today's Scrapbook Thoughts:
My little boy.  He is now eight years old, and I miss him when he was this young.  I think it's good to go back and use older pictures to scrap.  Remember your kids and the stages they've been through, their little voices, things they have said.  This picture was taken when my son was three, and looking at him in this photo reminds me of how much I love him, how he will always be loved by us, and loved by God.

"Love U"

TIP TIME:
To dress up the frames that are stamped onto plain cardstock, ink the inside of the frame with the SAME color ink, using Ranger's Cut n' Dry Foam.

Hello lovely people!

I made it back safe and sound from Arizona for the Spellbinders retreat and I want to do a more fulsome post so that I can share with you my thoughts and experience.  I am in awe of that company!

For my post today and what I do have prepared a video tutorial for the amazing adhesive company GLUE ARTS.

Glue Arts makes vinyl called Accent It All.  And do you know what you can do with vinyl and a die template?  Watch the video to find out!  I love love love the possibilities.

See the left and right hand of the layout, that beautiful border?  It was an affect achieved using Glue Arts Accent It All, ink, and the Spellbinders Parisian Accents die template.
