Wow - December is kicking off quite a few challenges and celebrations. There are 2 I have to tell you about.

One: CHF is having a celebration today for Lisa Strahl as she just created and released 16 new backgrounders for CHF. They are amazing and have so many uses! Two: Exciting news from Caardvarks. We have teamed up with PageMaps to create cards for 7 days, starting today (December 1st).

Caardvarks Challenge! Rub Me Tender!!

You guessed it! Use rub-ons on your card front. I was able to make 4 cards for this round, as I had some time and can't get enough rub-ons anyway. The Caardvarks link is on the left - go check it out, there is a great prize up for grabs! The challenge runs until November 30th - then there will be lots going on in December! Scraptivity's November Kit!

This kit has the richest colours in it. I just love this Pine Cone Press paper, for its canvas look and feel. This paper is so thick! Stamps work really well on the paper as well. This layout is of my daughter, and I used a Billy Joel song to match the picture.

Caardvarks Challenge! Sew on and Sew Forth!!

Create a card with hand stitching on the front! I used white thread to stitch the lace in place along with adhering the little circles with thread. Challenge ends November 17th!

My New CHF Stamps!

Look at these cute stamps! The first one is called Skating Penguin. I am planning on duplicating this card to make gift tags this year. I used markers and ink, and Staz-on for this one. Cardstock is Prism.

The second card was made with 4 different papers, Prism Cardstock and Kim Hugh's/CHF stamp set called Let's Get Stuffed. The apple and sentiment stamp is all I need to convey a happy harvest!

This is another one of Asela's/CHF new stamps. It is called Christmas Reindeer. You can buy this stamp mounted or unmounted. All available at Cornish Heritage Farms.

Caardvarks Challenge! Paint and More Paint!!

Got Paint? Well if you do, consider making a card with paint on it, and you can enter it into Caardvarks challenge until October 12. Anyone can play, and the prize from 2 Spotted Dogs is AMAZING! For my card, I stamped a Cornish Heritage Farms backgrounder stamp with cream colored paint, and the daisies were stamped with black paint.

CHF Projects

Here is a layout I completed, and I just found a wonderful spot for CHF's singing swirly bird. It sells for $4.49 US at their store.

WOW! These stamps are of superior quality! Deeply etched and every image is crisp and clean. Here is a card I made with their new Wood Grain backgounder. Wood Grain Backgrounder!

Using the new Wood Grain backgrounder from Cornish Heritage Farms, I made a bench and front door simply by trimming the image and cutting it up into pieces. I just adore this layout, and how it turned out. I am really trying to think about colour and how it matters! I tried to stick to neutrals and add hints of blue and black. I made the photo black and white so that it would not distract from the emotion I was trying to elicit. Those clock rub-ons are Imaginisce and I just love them! I actually took one clock and cut it up to get 3 different elements on my layout. Paper is Basic Grey. Thanks for looking.

Caardvarks New Challenge!

Here is my take on the challenge, the teapot sticker is from Creative Imaginations. Paper is American Crafts and Basic Grey, flowers are from Prima.

Cornish Heritage Farms!!!

I received a phone call at 5:00pm yesterday. At that time, I figured the day had come and gone for a phone call from Cornish Heritage Farms. BUT, it was my lucky day! Liz Pomeroy, the owner of CHF (along with her husband), called and told me I was one of ten people chosen for their Fresh Faces Design Team. It was kind of like winning the lottery. She had said that it was a very tough decision, and that no one sent in rubbish. Here is a link to the announcement on Lisa Strahl's blog, where you can see all the other talented ladies that were chosen.

Here us a card I had sent in when applying. I made the background with food colouring and rubbing alcohol. I used Brilliance Ink for the stamping.

Micro Challenge at Cardvarks

Go to Caardvarks and check it out! Make a card using beads on your card front...post it by Midnight Sunday September 2nd. The winning bead creation will receive a set of stamps! Anyone can play.

Below are my two cards. The bird was made by stringing and manipulating wire, the heart chipboard was drowned in glue and covered with multi coloured beads.
